Morland African Writing Scholarships Shortlist Announcement 2025
The Miles Morland Foundation is pleased to announce the shortlist for the 2025 Morland African Writing Scholarships.
This year we received over 800 entries from published African writers, over 300 more than last year. Competition was tough and our shortlist of 20 was selected using the combined scores of our experienced readers who assess each submission purely on literary merit.
Our judges have the difficult task of selecting just four winners which they will do on 21st November. We will announce the winners on 22nd November.
We had seven writers from South Africa and six from Nigeria, always strong contenders, but it was good to see writers from Cameroon and the DRC also featuring.
