Following the publication of Alemseged Tesfai’s MMF book: An African People’s Quest for Freedom and Justic, which has been well received, Alemseged embarked on a successful four-month book tour of the UK and the US.
During his time in New York Alemseged was invited to hold a launch of his book at the UN. UN staff, Ambassadors from African, Asian, Latin American and European delegations attended. A few days later, a panel composed of Ethiopian and Eritrean writers and intellectuals discussed Alemseged’s book and related topics. Alemseged was the main speaker for the first two hours during which renowned Ethiopian writers and politicians engaged in an intense exchange of views, comparing notes on their respective perspectives. It was a significant and poignant moment to have Ethiopian academics recognizing a book on Eritrean history, written by an Eritrean promoting the Eritrean narrative. Around 100,000 Ethiopians and Eritreans have since watched the debate on satellite channels owned by both countries.
We are very proud of Alemseged’s book and the impact it has already made and know it will continue to enjoy every success.
